National Thrift Shop Day
Did you know that today, August 17th, is National Thrift Shop Day? Thrifting is a great way to recycle gently used clothes, shoes, handbags, and housewares and reduce the amount of product that ends up in landfills every year. I go through my closet at least twice every year, pull items that I have not worn since the last cleanup (in good condition, of course), and donate at a local thrift store like Value Village. Today I am teaming up with Value Village in honor of National Thrift Shop Day to show you some examples of the kinds of deals you can score at your local thrift shop. I visited the Value Village in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle last weekend, where I found this flattering white fit and flare dress with elbow length sleeves. I love the classic shape that will never go out of style, and the added bonus that it has pockets! In today's outfit, I styled this dress with a kelly green sweater, taupe heels and envelope clutch. Please keep reading for more photos of both this outfit and of my shopping excursion to Value Village.
