Travel Style: Off-the-Shoulder Crop Top + High-Waist Denim Shorts

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I traveled to Central America with a group of girlfriends last week! We spent most of our long weekend in Belize, but took a guided day trip to Guatemala to visit Tikal National Park and its Mayan ruins. Tikal National Park covers 575 square kilometers of jungle forest in northern Guatemala, with ancient Mayan structures dating back as early as 600 BC! Palaces, pyramids, and temples were excavated between 1956 and 1970, and then the area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. This means that no additional excavation will occur, and the remaining structures will remain buried underground as they have been for centuries. I highly recommend a visit to Tikal National Park, preferably with a tour guide like we did so that you can maximize your time and learn as much as possible. My outfit for our day trip was suited to the warm and humid weather: an off-the-shoulder crop top, high-waist denim shorts, comfortable low-heeled sandals, and a camera-style crossbody bag.
