Fall Style: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 Purchases

*Updated 7/29/19.
I know that I am a little later than most on this post, but I wanted to create a quick post to share this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases. I only bought a few items this year, probably partly because of the increasingly complicated staggered sale timing and partly due to the fact that I did not have a long list of items that I needed this year. What was on my list? A plaid jacket or coat, a pair of tan knee high boots, and maybe something leopard. Please read on to see what I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, what I kept, and what I am planning to return.

This Ruched Sleeve Plaid Blazer and Zeopard Calf Hair Booties both were pieces that I found and ordered while browsing the pre-sale online. I mentioned I was looking for some sort of plaid jacket, and the XS that I ordered fits perfectly. It will be such a great piece for work, and I am sure I will be wearing this on repeat starting this fall. Now, regarding the booties--I never really need another pair of shoes but this pair was just too cool to pass up! You all have seen me wear my various pairs of leopard pumps and booties over and over again, and I am sure these will be the same. The heel height is 3 and 3/4", which is manageable for work and perfect for happy hour or going out. Size runs true.

Next up is this Plaid Wool Blend Coat with Removable Faux Fur Collar, the only piece that caught my eye in this year's catalog. I ordered an XS, but unfortunately as you can see here the XS nearly drowned me with sleeves and overall hem that are too long. I did not mind the loose fit when buttoned, as I would want some room, but the sizing just felt way too big so this one is going back. I also ordered these Tan Knee High Boots to check out, since I am looking for a pair of tan knee-high boots with a heel height that I can wear all day at work. This pair fit very baggy around the ankle, since they do not have a size zip. That is not quite what I am looking for, so these are going back as well, and I am hoping they will find another good home with someone else.

I returned the initial pair of tan boots, and went to my local store to check out a couple of alternatives in similar shades of tan. I picked up this knee high pair (many sizes are sold out online, but I would keep checking for restocks), and ordered this over the knee pair, and intend to keep one or the other. Now I just have to decide which one to keep...I'm leaning toward the knee high pair but I keep waffling.

There are two additional items that I purchased after my initial order, items that I have received and have decided to keep both. They are a Snake Embossed Pump, which is a perfect replacement for an older pair that I have worn to death and a Plaid Wrap Scarf, which will be perfect to layer this fall and winter.

  5. These are nice pieces and the first plaid coat is definitely a keeper! I didn't initially find anything I wanted during the sale. I came across a Bernardo jacket after reading another bloggers wish list and made sure to snag one for myself. It hasn't arrive yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed it fits since most items are sold out now.
