Thanksgiving Outfit Idea: Plaid Shacket

The fall season is all about layering, and this year I decided to try out a new trend to me: the shacket. A cross between a shirt and a jacket, a shacket is a versatile fall layer that can stand on its own as your outerwear if you live in a moderate climate or add a layer of warmth under your winter coat when temperatures drop below freezing. After seeing so many gorgeous bloggers style their pieces over the last year, I pre-ordered this plaid wool blend piece (currently priced under $60) back in September and was excited to get it in hand at the end of October. The neutral, wear-with-everything plaid print looks just a great as the photos, and the material is thick and warm. This cozy layer feels ideal for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday as well as more winter adventures to come! In today's holiday-inspired outfit, I styled this plaid shacket with a simple tank, distressed jeans and suede booties to run some weekend errands in the city. Please continue reading for more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for shackets that I think would look awesome layered for fall and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

  5. Such beautiful styling, Amber! I love all the soft colors in the shacket. It's such a fun change to see these colors rather than the bold colors of fall. And all the heart eyes for that bag too!
