Red Blazer + Navy Plaid + Pearls

I apologize for the lighting in these photos, my last few weeks have been a bit crazy and I didn't have a chance to take photos of this outfit in the early morning or before dark.  However, I really like the components of this outfit and decided to go ahead and share.  Inspiration credit goes to the lovely Annie over at Stylish Petite for this one: last month Annie posted this outfit combining a blazer, plaid, and pearls.  It was one of those outfits that I saw and said wow, that looks amazing...and then realized I have similar pieces already in my closet to easily create my own version.  I love that through blogging I am constantly getting ideas on how to restyle existing pieces from all of the fashionable ladies in the blogosphere, making old pieces feel fresh and new again.  For my version, I dusted off three pieces in my closet: a Banana Republic Factory blazer (seen here back in August of 2012) an Abercrombie plaid shirt, and a Stella & Dot necklace (seen here in October 2012).  Then I added a wool pencil skirt, leopard/cheetah print pumps and belt, and my navy Prada tote for a sleek office look.  I wear statement necklaces all the time, but I think these pearls are going to start rotating more frequently through my office ensembles to add a bit of Jackie O & Audrey Hepburn flair.
