Today's post contains several of my closet basics, also known as go-to pieces that fit perfectly and can instantly create a fabulous outfit.  My boyfriend and I both were craving soup dumplings on a recent chilly evening, so we made a special trip to Din Tai Fung for their signature xiao long baos.  Because Din Tai Fung was a spur-of-the-moment decision, I needed to quickly change clothes and therefore reached for several closet basics: my red trench coat custom-made on one of my trips to Shanghai, a black J Crew sweater, J Brand dark skinny jeans, leopard pumps, a Burberry plaid scarf, and my black Koret clutch.  A sleek ponytail and red lips complete a look that is suitable for a variety of occasions!
