Camel Schoolboy Blazer + Bright Separates

During the winter, I sometimes fall into a rut with my work outfits because it feels so dark and cold all the time. I find that I wear more black and grey to suit the weather, but that should not be the case. Winter is a perfect time to insert more color into a work ensemble to start the day off brighter! Today's outfit is a great example of this: a neutral blazer and boots paired with magenta and burgundy separates for a fun but office-appropriate look. I recently purchased this camel Schoolboy Blazer on sale from J Crew Factory to replace an older version that had worn out (a camel blazer is a work wardrobe staple!). I ordered a size 2 to allow for room to layer underneath, and although the sleeves are a tad bit long I am happy with the fit. In today's outfit, I paired this blazer with a magenta merino wool sweater, collar necklace, burgundy faux leather pencil skirt, and tall cognac boots. I wish I had a leopard tote, but I grabbed my leopard folder clutch instead to show that this outfit can easily be worn day to night--perfect for this time of year when holiday events happen after work!
