Spring Jacket Trends
We are nearing the end of April, and hopefully by now you have been able to store your winter coats in favor of lighter spring jackets. Layering this time of year is essential due to unpredictable weather, so today I decided to focus a post on four spring jacket trends: trench coats, long blazers, utility jackets, and windbreakers. There are many fabulous jacket options to choose from, but these four are the ones I am already wearing this spring. First up is the classic trench coat, a closet staple that I stand by year after year because it never goes out of style. You just saw me style a work outfit with my Burberry trench coat, so today I am showing you an outfit I styled for a recent New York trip featuring a cheerful red trench coat. I wore this red trench with a cocktail dress and red panama hat for a 90's themed party (my costume was Carmen Sandiego), but this jacket looks just as great with skinny jeans and stripes. Please read on for outfit links and my additional picks for spring jacket trends.

I noticed the return of the long blazer last spring, and am a big fan of this type of piece for both of the office and casual wear. Mine is a crisp white color, but I am also loving light spring colors like pink and yellow as well as light stripes and plaid prints. I think if I had a darker color I would wear a long blazer more often--I am always scared of getting this white one dirty!

Faux Leather Pants: old, similar here
Heels: old, currently loving this pair (on sale!)
Another jacket trend that keeps coming back year after year is the utility jacket. You have seen me wear this Madewell style for a couple of years now, and it continues to be on heavy rotation this spring because of its practicality. A utility jacket in a neutral color can pair with so many outfits!

My final featured jacket type is the windbreaker. I used to wear windbreakers on repeat back in the 90's, but then they fell off my radar for a while. This spring, I feel like windbreakers are back on trend and with so many cute printed options!
