Spring Fitting Room Try-Ons: Anthropologie

Happy Friday Eve, everyone! I have a second post for you this week that I think you are going to want to check out. You may have seen in my Instagram stories that I visited my local Anthropologie last weekend to check out their new spring pieces. It is one thing to see something online and order it without trying it on...but if I have the chance to try on in person I will absolutely do that. We have been enjoying a stretch of sunny and warm weather here in Seattle (75 degrees feels absolutely perfect after six months of cold, rain, and wind), and a sunny Sunday was the perfect opportunity to get out of the house, run some errands, and do a little physically distant shopping. I think you all know that Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores to shop, and I am loving all of the bright colors featured this spring! After browsing the entire store, I chose a selection of cheerful prints to try on and share with you here. Please keep scrolling for photos, outfit links, as well as size and fit details of the piece I chose to try.

The first spring dress option below has puffed sleeves, which you all know I love, plus a bold print and a defined waist. How can you go wrong? This dress is listed as a maxi length, but based on my try-on here I feel like it is a midi length. I am wearing a size 2 here, my usual size, and it fits pretty well with the exception of being a little tight in the bust/chest area. My store didn't have a size 4, but I would have liked to try that for comparison. I did not take this dress home with me, but I think it is a fabulous spring piece.

The second dress option below is a cotton blend that feels like linen, which I think makes it the perfect weight for summer. I am loving the cheerful bright print, flattering defined waist, and overall comfortable fit. This dress is also labeled as a maxi length but feel like a midi length because it falls above the ankle and I am not drowning in extra fabric. I am wearing an XS in this dress, and the size is perfect. Definitely saving this one for a sale later!

This third dress was the winner of the day, the one that came home with me. It was a tough choice, but I absolutely love the bright orange and pink tones (it reminds me of a gorgeous sunset), comfortable cotton fabric, flattering defined waist, and puffed sleeves. This dress checks all the boxes! I am wearing a size small here. Being someone who has a lot of neutrals and blues in my wardrobe, I also do not have anything like this in my closet today. This gorgeous piece is going to be my go-to summer dress, and as I publish this post it is on sale online with most sizes available. Win-win!

Moving away from dresses, I also tried on this bow-tie tank and wide leg printed pants. The bow tie detail up-levels this otherwise ordinary cotton tank, and these pants are ultra-comfy and a great option to ease back into real pants post-pandemic. I am wearing size XS in both pieces. This outfit was a close second to the dress I purchased, I almost brought these two pieces home and have them both flagged to snap up when they go on sale. They are that good.

I almost didn't share this outfit, since this eyelet top did not work out for me, but I decided to share in case the information is helpful for anyone else. This eyelet top had great potential, and looked great on the hanger, but it runs very large. I am wearing an XS here, and while I am a fan of comfort this one felt too roomy and I passed. It feels like you should size down in this style.

Finally, I thought why not share my shopping outfit with some old and new favorites? This is the actual outfit I wore out on Sunday, the easiest comfortable and stylish spring combo: a white eyelet tee, distressed shorts in the perfect light wash, jewelry favorites, and Hermes-inspired flat sandals. You cannot go wrong this outfit combo!

  5. Anthropologie is a store I LOVE when I go in, but I don't go in it often. I have friends that are always on their site, looking for awesome clearance finds, etc. and I don't blame them. Those Spring dresses are all so, so beautiful and such pretty colors!

  12. I love your fashion taste! All four of the dresses from Anthropologie you tried on have beautiful prints in pleasing colour combinations. I also like the comfortable looking short sleeves and tired styling of the swingy skirts. The wide-leg pants of the 5th OOTD look pretty, and I also like the tops in the 6th+7th OOTDs. If I had to pick just one fave, I think it would be the third outfit. The colour combination of its print is gorgeous.
