Transitional Style: Faux Leather Jacket + Striped Midi Dress

Heat waves are over, cooler temperatures here in Seattle indicate that fall weather is near, and I am loving the opportunity to continue to share more transitional outfit ideas with all of you. While I have not worn my dresses as often over the last year, I think we can all agree that transitioning your favorite dresses to fall with jackets and booties is a foolproof fall outfit combination. The striped midi dress I am wearing in today's look is an older piece, but one I consider a wardrobe staple for fall, winter, and spring. It is so comfortable and looks fabulous styled with this faux leather jacket I purchased during this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. In today's ensemble, I added leopard print booties (because why not?) and a bright red clutch for a pop of color. Please continue reading to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for knit midi dresses and faux leather jackets that I think could create stylish pairings for the summer to fall transition.

  7. I love this outfit so much, Amber!! You look so chic and the stripes and leopard pair perfectly together. The pop of red is also so fun! I have a lot of dresses but they're either fancy summer wedding type dresses or full-on winter dresses... not a ton of transitional pieces.
I hope you're having a great week so far!

  13. That striped dress is so good on you! I have a similar piece and it's such a good basic - as you've shown here it's so fun to play with and accessories! The leather jacket looks great on it and is a nice way to make it work for a cooler day. And the leopard print and the red are just fun accessories they really make the outfit! :) Now it's starting to warm up here I'll need to try wear that dress of mine again - haven't worn it with red yet, thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you are having a great weekend :) We had a quiet day yesterday as we had a big day at the zoo on Friday - we got to feed a giraffe!
