Resort Style: What I Wore in Cancun, Mexico

Do you have a favorite winter warm weather getaway? The months of February and March can be rough as we slug through the winter chill but desperately want and need a warm weather vacation. My husband and I got tired of the cold and rain last month, did a quick search for airfare and hotel deals, and booked ourselves a week in Cancun mid-March. I am so glad we did, because here during our dark Seattle winters we forget how much we need sunshine, warmth, and vitamin D! It was such a great opportunity to recharge our batteries with a few days of vacation, plus take advantage of the high-speed wifi at our hotel to work remotely for the balance of the week and still enjoy beautiful sunsets and al fresco dinners. I packed a full suitcase of outfits for this vacation and am excited to share my lineup of resort looks with you today. Please continue reading to see photos of everything I wore during our week in Cancun, along with sizing info and links for all pieces that are currently available online.

First up is this flattering and comfortable sweatsuit from Supesu (pronounced su-PEH-su). I found this brand via Instagram, when their ads kept popping up in my feed and I thought their sweatsuit sets looked really cute. I dug into their website, learned that they are a relatively new women-owned business with a great eye for thoughtful details in their pieces. Little features like a zipped pocket inside the main pocket of the pants and adjustable elastic bungees really got me, and I decided to order this Cubby Cropped Sweater and matching Cubby Jogger in cosmic latte & cream. I followed the size chart, ordered size 2 in both pieces, and they fit perfectly! This set is my new favorite travel set as it is both stylish and super comfortable for longer plane rides. You may notice that my links are not affiliate links, meaning I am not getting any $$ for sharing this brand with you, but I think they are making quality products and am very happy with my initial purchase.

The second resort outfit I am sharing with you is what I wore to dinner our first night in Cancun. I can not tell you how wonderful it felt to land in Mexico and feel sunshine and heat. I didn't even mind the humidity. We boarded an early morning nonstop flight from Seattle to Cancun, travel time of about five hours, and booked a transfer from the airport to our hotel with USA Transfers after watching and reading a number of accounts that stated taxis are unreliable and overpriced. My husband researched and chose our hotel, the Garza Blanca Resort, for its amenities including its highly rated restaurants. For our first night in Cancun, I styled this white ruffle one-shoulder bodysuit (I am wearing size XS) with black crepe shorts (I am wearing size XS), espadrilles (I am wearing my usual size 8M), and my new YSL leather clutch.

This third outfit is one that I wore for a casual morning grabbing breakfast at the hotel and checking out the amenities including the adults only rooftop pool with these adorable hanging chairs. You really cannot go wrong with a lightweight top, denim shorts (I am wearing my usual size 26 in this brand), sneakers, and a crossbody bag.

Next up is one of my weekend pool looks! You may be able to tell by my lack of a tan that this was our first day to relax at the adults only rooftop pool. A strapless bandeau top and matching bottom was the obvious choice for a day lounging both in the pool and poolside.

This fifth resort outfit is another dinner look with a longer sleeved maxi dress for a cooler and windier evening. By cooler I mean upper 70's temperatures instead of low 80's, and this long sleeve Vici maxi dress was the perfect lightweight layer. I just love this shade of blue and am wearing a size Small. Nude sandals (I am wearing my usual size 8M) and a nude ruched clutch round out the ensemble.

Next up is yet another dinner ensemble, this time with an older floral maxi dress that has been in my closet for many years but has not seen nearly enough outings. The lightweight fabric is perfect for a warm beach vacation, and all I needed was a simple pairing with nude sandals and a nude clutch.

Next up, a switch from dressy dinner outfits to a casual look featuring these Signed Blake x the Drop high waist wide leg pants. I added a simple black racerback tank and espadrilles for breakfast and remote work meetings. Lightweight, comfortable, and stylish are all wins in my book!

For my second to last look, I had to share this social media viral Vetchy bikini set in emerald. This brand kept popping up in my Instagram feed, had reasonable pricing, and looked so flattering that I had to try them out. I followed the size chart online, ordered a size medium top and size small bottom, and they fit perfectly. This set is so flattering and I love it, so much so that I just recently ordered a pink version!

Finally, I had to save the best for last and circle back to the initial outfit from the beginning of this post. I found this bright blue off-shoulder cutout dress recently on Revolve, fell in love with the color and shape, and let it sit in my cart for a few weeks before pulling the trigger. I followed the size chart, ordered a size small, and am so happy with the fit. The stretchy fabric hugs in all the right places and the style is perfect for a warm-weather vacation. The placements of the cutouts unfortunately made it impossible for me to wear a bra, but I found some adhesive bra replacements that I could trim and wear instead. They worked great and I also linked them below. Nude sandals and a nude clutch completed this chic resort ensemble.
