I decided to continue with spring trends this week, focusing today on the bright anorak! A bright anorak adds a wonderful pop of color to any spring outfit, as well as providing a bit of protection from fickle spring weather. The mid-thigh length and cinched waist are flattering for all body types, and primary colors red, yellow, and blue are in style year after year. Style wins all around!
For this outfit, I chose to pair my bright yellow Nine West anorak with my Nine West boat shoes, polka dot chambray, white sweater, and new glasses (yes, I normally wear contacts but decided to get a new pair of glasses after 10+ years!) for a preppy work look. I can also see pairing a bright anorak with a nautical striped dress or skirt, or even skinny olive cargo pants.
Check out my save and splurge picks on bright anoraks:

These are all cute picks! Anoraks are great for those times of the year when it's chilly but not quite warm.
ReplyDeleteI like the combination of yellow with the glasses.
ReplyDeleteThanks Felix! I'm always trying to be stylish like you! We still need to get together for a photo shoot so that I can put your style on my blog for my male readers. =)
DeleteLOVE those shoes and this outfit, but I gotta poke you just a bit... your 9 West pair was what, $30-40 compared to those $98 J Crew's? Ouch!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris! I definitely try to keep the pricepoints of my links reasonable, and I really appreciate your feedback. My Nine West flats were actually $79 when I purchased them last year - but I did see that they later on in the season they went on sale for $39.99 on ninewest.com and 6pm.com. I will try very hard to link to more affordable items in the future. =)
DeleteLOVE that yellow anorak with the yellow boat shoes Amber! Such a cute look :)

LOVE that anorak! I was searching for one at the wrong time of year and unfortunately had to settle on a black one instead of a fun color-- wish I had waited until spring because yours is so darn cute!

Two things:
ReplyDelete1. I'm in love with this look!!! I always fight my desire for a bright jacket and am now seriously regretting it! I love the way this looks!
2. Kimmie (of blue paper lanterns) and I were talking about finding a time for a Seattle fashion-blogger meet-up - maybe a lunch or happy hour downtown. Would you be interested??
I love this outfit! Love the pops of yellow :)
