Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases

As someone who grew up in Seattle, I have many fond memories of shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with my mom and sister.  It was a tradition that dates back as long as I can remember.  Every year, we would get up early to be at the doors just about 7am when they opened in order to rush in with all of the other excited shoppers.  I remember nearly losing my mom amongst the racks of clothes and all of the other excited shoppers--back during the time when both were much taller than me.  It was one of the most exciting things during summer break, because I got to pick out a few new things for the new school year that were far more exciting than my older sister's hand me downs!  Now, many years later, I still can't help but get excited to see what new fall pieces are on sale and need to be added to my closet.  I shopped online and purchased several items during the presale period.  Please read on for size/fit information of my purchases along with photos modeling each piece.  My height is 5'4" for reference.

Halogen "Open Front Blazer" in tan memoir (also available in black), $78.90 here

This blazer is lightweight, which I really like, and more pink than cream.  I purchased an XS: the shoulders and overall length are perfect.  The sleeves are just a touch long, but it's close enough that I'm not going to bother having them tailored.  I have already worn this blazer to work and received wonderful compliments--I recommend it!

Street Level "Vegan Leather Bucket Bag" in black (also available in cognac), $31.90 here

This bag is a little bigger than I thought it would be, but the strap is adjustable and I'm digging it.  On the shortest notch, this bag is comfortable both on one shoulder and worn as a crossbody.  The vegan leather looks and feels great - I have not yet used it, so I don't know about lasting quality, but based on look and feel I recommend it.

Halogen "Sleeveless Drape Neck Top" in burgundy-beige diamond print (available in 5 other colors), $28.90 here & Halogen "Lace Pencil Skirt" in burgundy stem (also available in black), $45.90 here

I can always use more pencil skirts and conservative tops for the office, and this fall I wanted to add more burgundy to my closet.  I purchased the top in petite small and the skirt in regular zero.  I'm happy with the fit and material of both: the skirt has a high waist so I can tuck the top in and add a blazer on top, or I can layer with collared shirts and sweaters this winter.  Both pieces are a bit stretchy.  I recommend both.

Leith "Waterfall Open Front Cardigan" in black (available in 2 other colors), $49.90 here

This cardigan was an impulse purchase when I stopped in my nearest store this last weekend.  I was still waiting for some of my online purchases to arrive, but wanted to look around and have the chance to touch/feel some of the sweaters.  This one won the tactile test--it is super soft and feels like wearing a cozy blanket.  My photo isn't the best, but you can get an idea of the length.  I purchased an XS and it the longest part in the front falls just about to my knees (the back is shorter).  It's long enough to fit the duster/long cardigan trend without making me feel short and stumpy.  I can already tell this piece is going to be worn nonstop this fall and winter, and I recommend it.

Zella "Live In - Inspire Capris" in black orbit (available in three other colors), $33.90 here and Zella "Amplify Racerback Tank" in blue greece (available in 6 other colors, I also purchased the same tank in white), $24.90 here

When it comes to workout pants, I have an affinity for bright splashy prints.  It was about to time get rid of some old, worn out pants and this pair immediately caught my eye online.  Having a cute outfit somehow gives me extra motivation in my barre classes!  I ordered my normal sizes: XS pants and S top.  After I took these photos, I decided that the blue doesn't really match like I thought it would (these pants are more purple than blue) and I took this ocean blue color back to the store.  The purple version is being shipped from another store, and I think it will match just right.  I have quite a few Zella pieces and have always been happy with the quality and fit.  These pieces look and feel great so far, and I recommend both.

Those are my purchases - now what did you buy?  Thank you for visiting my blog today, don't forget to enter the current group giveaway, and I hope you have a great week!
