Wool Statement Coat

I hope you had a great weekend!  Today I want to share with you a casual outfit and another new brunch spot in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle.  Lionhead is Jerry Traunfeld's newest restaurant, a modern take on Sichuan Chinese cuisine.  Traunfeld is known for his role as the former executive chef of The Herbfarm (another amazing Seattle area restaurant) during the timeframe 1990-2007.  At Lionhead, we feasted on crispy wok-fried eggs over escarole, lamb dumplings, and pork wontons in spicy sauce.  Scroll down for a photo of the dishes we ordered--and prepare to get hungry!  For my casual weekend brunch look, I started with one of my favorite statement pieces: a custom-made grey cashmere coat.  I had this coat made during one of my work trips to China a few years ago, and I love the soft cashmere and perfect fit!  The rest of my outfit consists of several winter closet staples: suede wedge knee-high boots, skinny jeans, a waffle turtleneck sweater, and a bucket bag.  This combo was ultra-comfy and warm on a crisp but dry winter day.

 Cashmere Coat: custom-made
Sweater: old, similar here (under $20!)
Denim: current version here
Boots c/o Shopbop, exact here
Bucket Bag: no longer available, save on this affordable gem or splurge on this Michael Kors beauty

Brunch plates at Lionhead (clockwise starting at top left): leek and chinese sausage bao, hong you chao shou (pork wontons in chili oil), lamb jiaozi, and crispy wok-fried eggs.

Check out my picks for more wool coats to keep you warm and cozy this winter, in this season's hottest colors.  All of these statement coats are priced for between $60 and $280 for a range of budgets:

What is you favorite type of statement coat this winter?  Thank you for visiting my blog today, and I hope you have a great week!
