Now that fall fashion is on the brain, it is the perfect time to talk about transitional pieces that will transform your wardrobe from summer to fall. While there are many pieces that can make up a fall and winter capsule wardrobe, the one I want to focus on today is the classic cashmere sweater. A cashmere sweater is incredibly versatile and adds both warmth and style to your fall and winter outfits. I love that a cashmere sweater can be dressed up or down, providing so many styling options! Think cashmere sweaters styled over your favorite dresses for an additional cozy layer, or over your favorite shorts for a late summer evening. Today, I am showing you three different styling options for cashmere sweaters with three recent additions to my wardrobe. I am feeling ready for fall, so please scroll through for more photos, outfit links, and a selection of cashmere pieces that I think will look fabulous styled for the summer to fall transition.
Cashmere Sweater: exact here Distressed Jeans: exact here or similar on sale here or here Suede Booties: exact here This first outfit features a wear-everywhere crewneck cashmere sweater in a dark tan color that is aptly named for fall: "spiced chai." I can appreciate that this sweater is made of 60% recycled cashmere for a more sustainable product, and it has a lower price than many other brands without sacrificing quality. Sustainable fashion is gaining traction over the last few years, and I personally love being able to make a purchase that helps our planet. Here I am showing you an easy, casual way to style a cashmere sweater with a pair of distressed jeans and booties. A statement belt, clutch, and hat are all optional, but I think perfectly round out the look.
Cashmere Sweater: exact here Wide Leg Pants: exact here (also on sale!) Square Toe Slide Sandals: exact here (available in six colors!) Leopard Clutch: similar here
This second outfit should look familiar, since I featured it in last week's post sharing my Nordstrom Anniversary sale purchases. This
cashmere sweater is the same brand and style as the outfit above, but in black, and these square toe slide sandals were a Nordstrom Anniversary sale purchase. A pair of
wide leg pants, a chic leopard print clutch, and adorable
star necklace round out this look that is perfect for date night, or work when we all go back to our offices. This outfit also helps show how versatile a cashmere sweater is, and how you can easily transition a pair of white pants from summer to fall!
This third outfit features an
everyday cashmere sweater with a slightly oversized fit that is an ideal cozy layer for the summer to fall transition! I ordered a size small by following the brand's size chart, but I honestly think I could have ordered an extra small for a more fitted look overall. However, since I have the two fitted styles I just showed you above, it's not a bad thing to have one looser fit cashmere sweater with more room to layer underneath and I'm absolutely in love with this sweater's high quality and super soft material. In this outfit, I styled this cashmere sweater with shorts and block heel sandals for a casual look with a beach-y feel, but I know I will be wearing this neutral color non-stop starting now and all through spring here in the Pacific Northwest.
I found more great cashmere sweater options for you to check out in the widget below. All of these pieces will keep you stylish and cozy through fall and winter, and are priced for a range of budgets starting under $100:
