Travel Style: Santorini Flying Dress Photo Shoot

It has been quite a year, hasn't it? For my final post of 2022, I want to share photos from my September flying dress photo shoot in beautiful Oia, Santorini. This photo shoot was a bucket list item for me--I had seen and admired flying dress photo shoots from several of my favorite travel bloggers since 2019, and had previously planned to return to the Greek islands during summer 2020 to check this item off my bucket list. It felt wonderful to be able to reschedule the trip and finally return to Greece in September of this year. There are many companies to choose from for a flying dress photo shoot, and after some research I chose SantoriniDress for my session. SantoriniDress was the first company to offer flying dress photo shoots, and according to my photographer and the website they invented and patented the idea over seven years ago. The OGs, if you will. The process to book was very easy; you can request a booking via their website by entering in your name and contact info, then they will reach out to confirm your choice of photo package, location, time, and dress. Be warned: they have over 50 dresses to choose from, so be sure to allocate time to look through the catalog and make your choice! I chose the "#60 bougainvillea satin transformer dress" because I absolutely love all of the pink bougainvillea flowers on the island and the contrast of the gorgeous pink color against the deep blue of the water and bright white of the buildings. I also wanted to take photo in Oia with the iconic blue domes, which required an early morning timeslot as sunset is impossible anymore due to cruise ship crowds and tourists. I didn't mind, but it's something to consider as their are other locations in Santorini that are less crowded and better if you want to do a sunset shoot. Please continue reading to see more photos from my Santorini flying dress photo shoot.

  5. Wow, I didn’t even know this was a thing! But it is completely beautiful and I love the idea. The dress you picked is absolutely gorgeous and stunning. The color suits you well and you look beautiful! I would like to visit Vermont in the fall to experience actual fall season or travel to Charleston and eat all the things people rave about! :) Happy New Year and I hope your week is off to a great start.
