Summer Style: Tailored Shorts + Stripes

I hope you all are enjoying your summer! We have been enjoying perfect summer weather lately here in Seattle: sunshine, high temperatures in the 80-85 degrees F (27-30 degrees C), low humidity, and no wildfire smoke yet (crossing fingers this year's fire season is minimal...but I'm not holding my breath). Since mornings and cool and afternoons are warm, I like to layer lightweight pieces for weekend outings and am sharing a great example with you today. These tailored shorts have become one of my summer staples since they are lightweight, loose-fitting, very comfortable, and look great dressed up or down. There is nothing worse than shorts or skirts that stick to your skin on hot days, am I right? I followed the size chart, ordered an XS, and they fit perfectly. I love them so much, in fact, that I now own these shorts in both navy and black. Since I am wearing the navy pair today, this navy stripe relaxed collar sweater made perfect sense to throw over my shoulders to run errands on a cooler weekend morning. I have actually had this sweater since spring 2021, and am thrilled that it is still available because it is one of my most reached for sweaters. I followed the size chart and ordered a small for a comfortable fit, and am probably going to order another one when this one starts to wear out. The rest of today's look consists of a crop tank, my Hermes Oasis sandals, my Gucci GG Marmont Mini Shoulder Bag, and favorite jewelry pieces.
