Transitional Style: How to Style Silver Shoes This Season

Gong xi fa cai (恭喜发财), xin nian kuai le (新年快乐) to all who celebrate Lunar New Year! Wishing good health, happiness, and good fortune to everyone in the year of the Dragon. Some of you know that I studied Mandarin in college and had the amazing opportunity to work in Shanghai for a year-long project about ten years ago. I created a series of posts on my China adventures that you can see here. It is so fun to look back at those posts--I feel like it was a lifetime ago and I have so many great memories from that time. Today I definitely feel older, not sure about wiser (haha), but I still try to wear something red during Lunar New Year since red is considered a lucky color that will bring prosperity. While red is my accent color in today's look, the color I really want to talk about is silver. How many of you have adopted the metallic trend this season? I am a bit late to the game, having browsed metallic shoes or bags for a while now, but I finally bought in when I found these silver slingback heels that check multiple 2024 trend boxes and have a pricetag under $100. This weekend's rainy and windy weather was not very cooperative for photos, but I managed to capture this transitional look that styles these silver heels with a pair of faux leather pants and a pointelle sweater (both newer additions to my closet and both warm for a chilly winter day). A long wool coat and red crossbody bag complete this ensemble that I think is ideal for these cold, blustery winter and early spring days. Please continue on to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for a variety of silver shoes that I think would look so chic styled this winter and straight into spring.

Since I am officially on the metallic trend this season, I searched and found more silver shoes in various styles and heel heights that I think would look fabulous styled for the winter to spring transition. You can scroll through to see all of my picks, priced for a range of budgets and with a handful of options currently priced under $100:

How do you feel about the metallic trend this season? If you are loving it, how are you styling silver pieces right now? Please be sure to leave me a comment to let me know. Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a fabulous week!
