Spring Style: Striped Tomboy Shirt + a Gen Z Half Tuck
There is something about a crisp button-up shirt that instantly makes me feel pulled together, even when worn in a casual way. I recently added this green striped button-up to my closet after eyeing it, saving it in my wish list, and then executing on the purchase when I received a coupon code. The cotton/linen blend is ideal for upcoming summer temperatures, and after checking the size chart and finding myself in between sizes I ordered a size 36/US 4 for a looser, more comfortable fit. For this styling, I added a pair of skinny jeans, ankle strap sandals, and my green Goyard Hirondelle crossbody bag. I also learned a new half tuck method recently that I tried out for this outfit. Apparently, us "old millennials" are doing things wrong according to Gen Zs by actually tucking our shirts into our pants. Who knew? The current trend is to fold one half of the shirt tail up and button it instead (you can check out how I did in my Instagram reels!). I wore this outfit to brunch with several of my girlfriends recently, but it would also work well for a casual day in the office or I could swap out the jeans for a more structured pant. Please continue reading to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for button-up shirts in spring colorways that I think would look fantastic styled now and later.

DeleteAgreed! Button up shirts are closet staples and the one you featured in this post is beautiful. Stripes are timeless but so is the white and blue color combo. I love to wear mine open with the sleeves rolled up but really depends on the situation because I also like to the knot the bottom as well. Btw, that’s a gorgeous bag. The shape is eye catching!
