Transitional Style: Maxi Dress + Tailored Vest
Mild early fall days continue here in Seattle, with chilly mornings warming up to afternoons in the mid-upper 60's that are ideal for early season football games, post season baseball games, and end of season soccer games. We had a Seahawks game, two Mariners' games, and a Sounders game all at home this weekend and the weather really cooperated for fans to enjoy all of the games. This amazing early fall weather has had me browsing for early fall layering ideas, some of which you have seen in recent posts such as styling summer dresses with knee-high boots and styling blazers with tailored shorts. Another option that I am sharing with you today is to try styling your favorite summer maxi dress with a tailored vest. You first saw this particular vest last summer paired with tailored shorts and heeled sandals in this post, and you saw this floral maxi dress last summer in my India travel logs as I purchased the dress to wear in India to be respectful of its conservative culture. Today I am sharing these two pieces styled together in a new way, perhaps wearable for a casual office culture or definitely for a night or weekend out. A favorite designer clutch, ankle strap sandals, and several favorite accessories round out this ensemble. Please continue on to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for vests and maxi dresses that I think could look lovely styled together this fall and beyond.
