Summer Outfit: Tailored Vest + Shorts

One summer trend that I am finally getting into is styling a tailored vest as a top. I remember wearing tailored vests in the 90's over button-ups and t-shirts, and I have styled long vests a number of times on  this blog, but I hesitated with the vest-as-a-top trend until I met this one with a shawl collar and peplum hem that is just the right length to be very flattering on my body type. I can see many style options for this vest going into fall such as with a satin midi skirt, over a slip dress, and with a pair of tailored pants. However, there are plenty of options for summer styling including this look I am sharing today. I styled this tailored vest with a pair of high waist tailored shorts, heeled strappy sandals, my red Prada crossbody bag, and several favorite jewelry pieces. I thought about tying my silk Prada Pittoresque Milan print scarf onto my bag, but the silk hair scarf is trending again this summer and made so much more sense.
