Woven Bag Style Ideas

With Memorial Day being the unofficial start to summer, it feels like a great time to share style ideas for a huge summer trend: woven bags. Woven bags are no longer just seen as beach totes, and whether you prefer raffia, straw, or leather (a la Bottega Veneta), there are many great options to choose from this season. When I think of how to style a woven bag, my first thought is still a tropical or beach vacation, but I have also branched out to style woven bags for summer outings in the city. A woven bag is an excellent choice to pack for a tropical or beach vacation, and I have packed this adorable woven crossbody bag on several trips including Costa Rica, Grand Cayman, and the Boracay Island in the Philippines!

I have also styled a woven satchel and a woven tote multiple times with dresses and sandals for summer brunches and other casual events. I recommend tying a silk scarf on your straw bag for a touch of color. I think this option looks so chic! 

The third option is to style a straw bag or tote casually for summer outings in the city. Here you can see I styled mine with a romper and sandals for a hot summer visit to our local Pike Place Market, as well as with a short sleeve sweater, jeans, and sandals for a casual summer dinner date with my hubby.
