Winter Style: Combat Boots + Oversize Sweater

Welcome to the final week of 2020! Sometimes it feels like we would never get here, and other times it feels like this year flew by. Although I did not originally intend to style an all-black outfit with combat boots as my last outfit post of 2020, somehow it seems fitting to "give 2020 the boot" as we close the door on this year. First, let's talk about these combat boots. I was too young in the 1990's to be into the grunge trend, but bought these Dr. Martens in the 2000's as a comfortable pair of waterproof boots to wear around my college campus. Post college, I stashed these boots in my closet for over ten years but never donated or sold them. I guess I knew that I would wear them again? This year was one to restyle many existing pieces in my closet, and lucky for me these combat boots are back on trend. So today, I am sharing with you a comfy casual outfit with these boots that could be your go-to combo this winter. This Cozy Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater is also a recent purchase--it is so comfortable and virtual meeting approved. I liked this sweater so much I bought it in two additional colors (grey and linen). True story! All I did was add faux leather leggings, a neutral belt bag, and voila: a chic, casual outfit that is perfect to wear while working from home or running errands. One last thing: I have to talk about this new nude lip color that I purchased on recommendation from a dear friend. It's a combination of a matte lipstick that you can find here and a gloss that you can find here. This lip color looks good with everything, seriously, so be sure to check it out. Please scroll through for more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for combat boots that are stylish and on-trend this winter.
