Transitional Style: Plaid Long Blazer + White Booties

Happy Monday, everyone! We had a rare snowstorm here in Seattle over the weekend, dumping almost a foot of snow in the downtown area between Friday and Sunday. One benefit of the pandemic is that we did not have to be anywhere over the weekend, and could just enjoy the snow stress-free! Today's outfit photos were taken pre-snowstorm and feature a new investment piece recently added to my closet. Since the start of the pandemic I have purchased fewer pieces of clothing and shoes, but focus on versatile, high quality pieces that can be styled and restyled over and over again. This Veronica Beard plaid long blazer is a great example of an investment piece that I snagged on major sale! As I publish this post, this blazer has been marked down to 70% off with almost all sizes in stock. I followed the size chart and ordered a size 4 (mainly for the shoulders), and am happy with the oversized fit and room for layering. Depending on fit preference, I think a size 2 would have worked as well and may have had a better sleeve length. The dark neutral plaid print of this blazer will be so easy to style with many existing pieces in my closet, but in today's post I styled this blazer simply with a white mock neck top and black coated skinny jeans. I could have worn heels, but I decided to go with white booties for something different!
