Summer Style: Y2K Fashion

My apologies, friends! I am a bit behind on this week's blog post due to recent work travel, but I wanted to pop in today to share an outfit combo that has been on repeat this summer. I'm calling today's look my way to style Y2K fashion because it includes several pieces that fall into Y2K trends and are very approachable. Much of Y2K fashion is a bit scary for me to revisit, like low rise jeans or mini mini skirts, but what I am sharing today contains pieces that I love so much I purchased them in multiples. The first example is these Ultra High Rise 90's Straight Jeans in light wash with side slits at the ankles. These looser fit straight leg jeans are reminiscent of pairs that I wore in high school, I am wearing a "curve love" size 25R, and am so happy with how they fit. I also have the light ripped wash that you previously saw in this post and this post in the same size. I styled these jeans with another Y2K trend, a cropped tank that I currently own in eight colors and now consider a closet staple. This yellow is so cheerful and perfect for summer, and goes well with the colorful necklace and bracelet that are also right on trend. Chunky sneakers, the final Y2K trend, and my YSL Medium Envelope bag round out this casual look. I am not kidding when I say I have been wearing versions of this outfit on repeat. Please continue scrolling for more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for approachable Y2K trends to style your own version this summer.

While I will readily admit that I have "been there, done that" with most Y2K fashion trends and do not feel the need to revisit, there are some Y2K trends that I feel fit into my personal style both now and in the future. Those trends definitely include chunky sneakers, cropped tops and sweaters, and 90's straight leg jeans. You may feel the same! I collected a series of my favorite Y2K inspired pieces for you to check out below:

Have you tried styling Y2K fashion this year? If so, let me know your favorite pieces and how you styled them. Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a great rest of your week!

    1. Thank you, Mica, for your kind note! I love yellow too, but don't wear it that often. Maybe I should change that. =)

  10. I love the appearance of the outfit you styled
and I like the white sneakers you accessorised it with.
I think low-rise jeans are out, but that full cut briefs are in -
and you would look fabulous rocking a mini-skirt
(it will undoubtedly get quite hot in early August).
Your hair and lipstick look very pretty.
