Transitional Style: Chunky Loafers
While I love my heels, a comfortable and stylish pair of loafers is an essential shoe in my work wardrobe rotation--especially if I know I'll be spending a significant amount of time on my feet. I love my classic Gucci Brixton convertible loafers (you may have seen them styled a couple of times on the blog including in this outfit), but I started seeing a new style emerge over the last couple of years. Traditional loafers have gotten an update with chunky soles and additional height! This updated shoe style landed firmly on my fall wishlist, and I recently added this pair of croco printed leather loafers to my closet. I decided on this particular pair because I have had an eye on this Italian brand for a while (shoes are handmade in Toscana), I love the light cream color, and the lightweight EVA rubber sole eased my concern of a chunky style being too heavy to wear all day. I followed the size chart, ordered a size 38.5 (I am usually a size US 8), and they fit perfectly. While my exact color is sold out in the traditional version, this style is currently available in beautiful brown and black shades that are perfect for fall. Plus, there is a mule version that is available in the same color. In today's outfit, I styled these chunky loafers casually with a pair of cropped wide leg pants (I own these in 3 colors, all size small petite, and frequently rotate them for work) and a cozy striped sweater for a cool late summer weekend. Please continue scrolling to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for oxfords that I think would look so chic styled this fall and beyond.
