Fall Essentials: Cropped Cardigans and Wide Leg Jeans

The official first day of fall is this Saturday, September 23rd, and while we have enjoyed a lovely summer in Seattle I do not mind the cooler temperatures and turning leaves. The changing season means it is time for fall layering and you all already know how much I love my seasonal layers! Today I am sharing two outfits in partnership with Sézane that feature two essential fall trends in my closet: cropped cardigans and wide leg jeans. These two trends are everywhere this season, and I can see why. This pair of wide leg cropped jeans are a smidge long on me, I may get them hemmed, but I am all about the high waist fit and straight leg style. These particular jeans are not stretchy, but I am okay with that since they hold you in and do stretch a bit over time as you wear them. I followed the size chart, ordered a size 2, and while they were very tight the first time I wore them I am now happy with how they fit. These 100% merino wool sweaters are both the same style, and you have seen the rosewood color in my first Sézane partnership post. I love this style so much that I just recently added the ecru/navy striped version to my closet for fall and I am seriously considering more colors. It is such a versatile sweater to style with high waist jeans like I am showing you here, or high waist pants, skirts, and shorts. You could even layer this style over dresses--there are so many options that I have yet to try. Today I am sharing casual, office-friendly looks styling these pieces with lightweight scarves, low heels, and a favorite crossbody bag. These ensembles are perfect for these late summer and early fall days, and I can easily add a wool coat for colder temperatures coming later this fall and winter.
