Winter Style: Plaid Shacket + Faux Leather Skirt + OTK Boots

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate and Happy New Year! My husband and I spent time with family on both sides between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and then flew to Paris for one more quick trip before the end of the year (more on that later). Between Tokyo and Paris I feel like I have been able to see so many great examples of personal style over the last ~6 weeks, but one trend I saw women wearing in both cities was mini skirts with tights and boots. I don't believe you can go wrong wearing skirts and boots together in the winter, but I was inspired to pull this faux leather patch pocket mini skirt and these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots out of my closet to style for today's look. Both of these pieces are a few years old, but I have linked similar items down below. Since the base of this outfit is all black, I decided to add a fun pop of color by choosing this Sézane pink plaid shacket as the topper for this ensemble. This shacket is made of a nice thick wool, very good quality, and it kept me nice and warm for a recent weekend trip to our local Pike Place Market for lunch. We also visited the Seattle Art Museum nearby that same afternoon to see a limited time exhibition of artwork by Katsushika Hokusai, one of the most famous Japanese artists and the creator of "The Great Wave." It was inspiring and reminded me that I need to visit our local museums more often! Please continue reading to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for cozy shackets that I think would look fantastic styled this winter and beyond.
