Travel Log: Napa Valley Wine Tasting Day 2

On our second day of wine tasting in Napa, the first stop was Robert Mondavi Winery on the St. Helena Highway for a few photos around the grounds.   This iconic winery was founded in 1966 and designed with early California missions in mind.

Our next stop was Minery Family Vineyard off of the St. Helena Highway in Oakville.  Miner Family was founded in 1999, and they are known for their flagship bordeaux style blend "Oracle."  We had the opportunity to try the 2007 and 2008 Oracle during our tasting in addition to a chardonney, pinot, malbec, and cabernet.  I definitely enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the sun sipping all of Miner Family's delicious varietals, and would absolutely return on a future visit.

I loved these glasses.  =)
Amazing view from the tasting room patio.

Our last stop for the afternoon was Honig Vineyard, located directly across from Round Pond Estate in Rutherford.  Honig was founded in 1964 and is known for their sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon, both of which we were able to try as well as a dessert late harvest sauvignon blanc that was so unique I brought a bottle home.  This is another place we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the outdoor patio, playing with the resident pup, and chatting with our host about his studies to pass his sommelier test, and I would gladly return for another visit.

Honig resident pup Charlie...look at that face!

One last puppy shot!

After another relaxing afternoon of wine tasting, we headed back to our hotel to change for our 5:30 reservation at the French Laundry.  I am so excited to share the amazing meal with you in my next post!  Thanks for reading!
