Transitional Style: Layering a Slip Dress

Happy Monday and President's Day to my US based followers! If today is a paid holiday for you I hope you are enjoying a relaxing long weekend. Today I want to share a transitional outfit that I wore over the weekend, featuring this black slip dress. Quick reminder that you have seen this dress styled a few ways already here and here. Since it still feels like winter here in the Pacific Northwest, I decided to layer a mock neck sweater and thin Gucci belt over this dress, and love how the layers easily transform this dress from wedding guest attire to weekend casual! A pair of Dr Martens boots are very on trend for the winter to spring transition, also keeping with the casual vibe, but you could easily swap the boots for heels to dress it up a bit. This Celine Micro Belt Bag is a timeless piece, and this Pendleton Timberline Wool Coat round out the look. I love how this ensemble came together and provides another way to wear a slip dress while the weather is still cold and unpredictable. Please continue reading to see more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for slip dresses that I think would look lovely styled for the winter to spring transition and beyond.
