Fall Style: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 Purchases
*Updated 8/1/21
The summer to fall transition is not far away, today is the first day of public access to this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and it is a fitting time to post reviews of the items I ordered and received from this year's sale. As a quick reminder, my 2021 wishlist post can be found here. I was able to place an order for seven items, two were cancelled, and the remaining five arrived in a series of shipments between Saturday and yesterday. Taking fall fashion photos during the summer is always an adventure, but I quickly snapped some outfits with my new purchases a few mornings ago before it got too toasty warm. For reference, I am 5'4" tall and depending on the brand I wear size XS or S in tops and jackets, size 25 or 26 in pants, and size 8 in shoes. Please read on for more photos, fit information, and product links. Some items and sizes are selling out, but don't forget to check for restocks as returns happen during the sale. I also have added a Shopstyle widget below, now that the Nordstrom Anniversary items are available to be added, that includes the exact pieces I am wearing as well as some additional, similar options that I think you may also love.

Booties: this year's version (also part of the sale!) here
This first outfit features a black faux leather jacket and a super-soft funnel neck sweater made of recycled polyester and wool. This jacket will replace a very old knit and faux leather moto jacket that I bought way back in 2013 when I was working in Shanghai, and literally wore until it fell apart. This one is a great replacement--it feels very sturdy, well made, is fully lined, and priced at $54.90 during this sale ($98 regular price). I ordered a size small to have room for layering, and am very happy with the fit. As you can see here, I easily layered this ivory funnel neck sweater in a size extra small underneath. This sweater is a keeper at a sale price of $39.90 ($54 regular price), I ordered two colors that I know I will be wearing on repeat. These jeans are not part of the Nordstrom sale, but are an everyday bargain at just $78 for all colors (the bone color I am wearing is now 20% off as I publish this post). Rounding out the look are these suede booties - mine were purchased during last year's sale (size 8), but I am loving this year's version in rhum suede or chic cream leather (you remember how much I love my white booties, right?). I know I will get a ton of wear out of both this faux leather jacket and this sweater, and am keeping both pieces.

Booties: this year's version (also part of the sale!) here
This second outfit features the item I was most excited to receive - this fabulous leopard coat! I am so surprised that all sizes are still in stock on this style, how did everyone sleep on this one? I think this one is a perfect car coat, office layer, and more. The leopard print is so pretty with its neutral blue-grey, tan, and black print that can be thrown over pretty much everything in my closet, and the price is right at $139.90 during the sale ($234 regular price). This is the same brand as my brown and black animal print coat purchased from last year's sale, and while I don't NEED two animal prints coats I want to keep both. I initially ordered a size small, same as my other coat, but as you can see in these photos this style runs larger than last year's version and is too big in the shoulders and overall length. I ordered an extra small that arrived a few days ago, and the fit is much better in the shoulders and width. The length on the XS still falls below my knee, because I am 5'4", so I am considering hemming it, but the XS is a keeper. I styled the same recycled poly and wool funnel neck sweater in grey (size extra small) under this coat, and as you can see it looks great with the same white jeans and tan suede booties. I also have last year's version of these navy suede booties that also on sale this year for $129.90 ($199 regular price).
Plaid Blazer: exact here
Funnel Neck Sweater: exact here
Booties: this year's version (also part of the sale!) here
This third outfit features this blue mixed plaid blazer, another item that I was excited to receive as you all know how much I love my blazers. While I saw in the description that this blazer is made up of a poly/wool blend, I was surprised at how thick and heavy weight it is. I absolutely love the blue plaid print, size extra small fits well, and I even like the structure that the shoulder pads provide. However, this particular blazer is too heavy and warm for me to wear to the office here in Seattle. If you live in a city with sub-zero temperatures for extended periods of time in the winter (I'm looking at my mid-west and northeast friends!), then this jacket could be perfect for you. I'm bummed, but this one is going back.
That's the summary of my 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases. You can also easily shop the pieces I am wearing, as well as some similar items, in the widget below. Be sure to scroll through to see everything:

Away From The Blue
Thank you, Mica! I did receive the smaller size leopard coat the other day and it fits MUCH better. It's a keeper! =)

Thank you, Danielle! I hope your weekend is going great!
DeleteI really like that leopard jacket and the unique colors of it over the traditional warmer/neutral colors with leopard prints. I always miss out on the Nordstrom sale, because we are usually on vacation around that time and I just don't have the energy to check it out or write about it on my blog. I always say next year and then I don't! Lol! But, I love reading everyones posts.

ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Thank you so much, Jill! I agree that the mixed plaid print on this blazer is SO cool, but it was just to thick/heavy/warm for me to keep!
DeleteThese outfits are so gorgeous on you! I love the leopard blazer and the funnel neck sweaters look so good I looked to see what was left. Maybe they will restock. They seem to be great in layering too. The plaid blazer really is sharp!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jessica! I do think checking for restocks is a great idea, I've been able to snag some great pieces that way!
