Summer Style: Eyelet Dress + Straw Tote

I know I have said this before, but I love summer in Seattle! Other than the crazy 100+ degree heat wave we had a couple of weeks ago, summer is the best time of the year to live in or visit my hometown. It is boating season, hiking season, picnic at a winery season, wedding season, and more...and in my humble opinion, it is pretty tough to beat. When I think of summer fashion to go along with sunshine and warm temperatures, two fabrics or materials that immediately come to mind are eyelet cotton and woven straw. This eyelet shirt dress is a new addition to my closet, one that I eyed for a few months and finally pulled the trigger when it was recently marked down on sale. It's the belted waist and pockets that sold me on this particular style. I followed the size chart, ordered a size four, and it fits perfectly. This straw tote was featured on this blog several years ago here and here, but this year I decided to remove the tassels to increase the versatility and styling options. In today's post, I tied a floral silk scarf on this straw tote for a pretty pop of color, then added espadrille sandals and my favorite jewelry pieces to round out this summer look that is ideal for brunches, happy hours, winery visits, and more. Please keep reading for more photos, outfit links, and more great options for eyelet dresses and straw bags that I think would look beautiful styled together for a variety of summer activities.
