Transitional Style: Puff-Sleeve Bodysuit + Faux Suede Pencil Skirt

While we are enjoying the height of summer, many of us are already thinking about fall fashion (thanks, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) and realizing that the summer to fall transition is closer than we all would like to admit. For those of you who shopped the Nordstrom sale with early access last Friday, were you able to get anything on your wishlist? The last few years, I have been able to get most of what I wanted by logging into my account right before midnight, adding my wishlist to my cart right at midnight, and quickly checking out. However, this year was a huge disappointment--my order was confirmed at 12:01am, but only one item out of the seven coats/jackets/sweaters I ordered has shipped. Two have been cancelled, and the other four are in limbo/sold out online and probably going to also get cancelled. I let myself be bummed for a bit, but then decided that the best thing to do is to start styling some outfits for the summer to fall transition with items that are already in my closet! My company is going to start phasing employees back into our corporate office this fall, so workwear felt like the perfect place to start. I am getting excited about styling cute outfits to wear to the office again, and in today's look I picked a couple of beautiful pieces that deserve to be in the spotlight again: a blush pink faux suede pencil skirt (last seen back in 2017 in this post) and an off-white puff-sleeve bodysuit (navy version seen here). I love this neutral palette for late summer and early fall, and my favorite nude pumps, bag, and jewelry pieces round out the ensemble. Please continue reading for more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for bodysuits and faux suede pieces that I think would look lovely styled together for the summer to fall transition.

  5. This outfit is absolutely gorgeous. It is such a classic and the puff sleeves are my favorite trend. I am also with you regarding the NSale. A little disappointed at the sale as well. I was bummed for having things sold out way too early but I am okay now. Lol

    1. Thank you, Maureen, for your kind compliment! I am sorry that you were also disappointed by Nordstrom this year, and I hope they learn one of these days to not bother putting items on the website when they only have enough for elite tiers. Don't show me what I can't have! =)

  6. This outfit is SO chic on you! I'm bummed on your behalf that so many of the NSale items you wanted sold out (or are in limbo/going to get cancelled). I really do think they short-stock the sale too much and it really makes it tough to get the items you want.

  12. That skirt is beautiful on you and I really like the puffed sleeved top with it! :) Our office has been open for a while, but most of us are still working from home. My new team are more open to being in the office than my old team so I'm looking forward to arranging more days to go in. It's more fun when the whole team can make it in, I've learned that from the handful of days I've been in so far.

    Thanks for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!

Hope you have a nice weekend ahead of you :) Busy one here, I'm volunteering at a fundraising booth this morning :)

    1. Thank you so much, Mica! I love my puffed sleeves, you know. =) I also agree that it's more fun when your whole team is in the office together, instead of just you. I think when my company starts to phase us back into the office I will be asking my teammates what days they are going in, so that I can do the same.
