Thank you to everyone who voted in my Instagram stories the other day! By popular demand, I created today's post to share my picks from this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Spoiler alert, there are not that many. It's not that I dislike this year's Anniversary Sale selection, on the contrary I think there are some great fall fashion finds finds. However, a combination of many years spent building my closet plus some pandemic induced paring down of my closet resulted in my focus on classic, versatile pieces that can be styled and restyled many ways over time. For those not familiar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it is an annual event by the Seattle-based retailer where fall fashion items from top brands are both introduced and put on sale at the same time, both online and in stores. Now I am a base level cardholder (they call it "Influencer status" but really all it means is I have a Nordstrom credit card and I spend less than $5,000 in a year), so I will be shopping with most of the other cardholders this Friday, July 16th (probably at the same time as many of you!). Many popular brands go fast, so be sure to build your wishlist in your account on Nordstrom.com so that you can quickly add to cart and check out on your designated day. Please keep scrolling to see all of my picks with links, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
First, let's talk about coats, a staple for any wardrobe during fall, winter, and spring. You all know that I love a soft, warm, dressy coat like the animal print coat featured above. The coat above was one of my limited purchases in last year's Anniversary Sale (you can see the post with my purchases
here), and one that I wore as much as I could with the limited time out of my home last fall and winter. I found an animal print coat from the same brand as mine last year (I love mine but I kind of want this year's version too), as well as two plaid options (one brown and one navy blue) that I think are both stylish and versatile. The fourth option is a wool blend cardigan that is a splurge, many bloggers have already recommended it, but I do think it looks super cozy and there are three colors to choose from. I am going to try to order a couple of these styles to try myself, and if you are also in the market for a warm dressy coat this fall please check out the styles I linked below:
Next up are faux leather and leather jackets, another fall staple. I am actually in the market for a black faux leather or leather jacket this year, and the below styles all look fabulous. The first two options are from the same brand, with one in a classic black faux leather moto style and the other in an eye-catching brown and black faux leather combo. The third option has a sueded texture that I think looks really good, and if you are a fan of genuine leather I think the shape and length of the fourth option here is perfect. I may try to order all of these to try on, see what looks the best on me, and keep my favorite. If you are in the market for this type of jacket this year as well, check out the links to my picks below:
This last group of jackets is a mixed bag, but hear me out as I have my reasons for sharing all four. If you don't already have a classic khaki trench, or if you are in the market for an upgrade, my first pick below is a high quality, timeless style. I love the faux leather accents, and if I didn't already have my Burberry trench I would 100% be ordering this one. The second is a faux leather puffer that is both on-trend and a gorgeous shade of brown that is perfect for fall. I love it, but I already have a Moncler puffer. If I didn't, I would try to order this one. Two grey printed blazers round out the last set--you all know I love my blazers and these two options are my favorites. I'm going to try to get one or both to compare and see which one looks better on me and in person. You can check out links to all of these styles below:
Now that we are finished with coats and jackets, let's talk about sweaters. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to stock up on cozy pieces that can be worn from fall through spring. Whether you are looking for an easy-to-layer cardigan, or a cozy turtleneck, or a classic cashmere crewneck, all of my picks below are similar pieces to ones that I already have and love. While I do not really need any more sweaters (I slimmed down my collection and donated a bunch during the pandemic), I am considering ordering one or two of the below options because they are slightly different colorways or shapes and I know they would get a ton of wear. If you need to refresh your sweater collection, check out the links to my picks below:
I am skipping dresses, jeans, and tops entirely, as I really didn't see any items that called to me in this year's sale styles. Instead, I am moving straight on to boots and booties. Fall shopping is all about shopping for boots, right? The below styles are similar to some of my purchases from the last couple of years (you can see my 2020 purchases post
here and my 2019 purchases post
here), but it does hold true that neutral tall boots and booties are a closet staple. I won't fight you for stock of any of the below styles because I don't need any new boots this year, but I think some if not all of these will go fast, so if you are in the market for new boots and booties please check out the links to my picks below:
That's it for my picks, thank you for reading this far! Are you shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year? If so, what are you hoping to add to your closet? Please be sure to leave me a comment below to let me know. Thank you for visiting my blog today, good luck, and I hope you have a great rest of your week!

DeleteThat first outfit of yours- you look so chic in that coat! I agree with you that while the sale is great there is nothing I "need" right now so I'm holding off on most things!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gentry! I hope your week is off to a great start!
DeleteI absolutely love that first look you shared- so chic and timeless! While this is a good sale I really don't "need" anything either so I'm not planning on picking up that much!

DeleteThese are good picks! I agree that a sale is the best time to stock up on jackets! My fave trench coat I picked up for under $50 in a summer sale years ago and I've been thankful for it every winter since!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a nice weekend :) I had a fun girly day out shopping yesterday, it was so much fun!
